Rainbows of life

“A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch.
I’d like to think of those moments as a prism, me noticing those moments means holding that prism to the sunlight and then me living in the moment is seeing that rainbow I have created by holding that prism to the sunlight! I know it sounds easy to do, but the facts are that YES IT IS that easy, we as adults seem to thrive in making everything complicated! If we don’t break a sweat or are exhausted then we didn’t achieve it! I say that we often forget to see life through the eyes of a child, of course we have responsibilities but what keeps us from enjoying the time we have throughout those said responsibilities? When we go to work don’t we sit in the lunchroom with peers and talk, laugh even? Same thing for those attending higher education and being part of study groups!
Rainbows of life

I was wondering...
Ever noticed when you hold a prism to sunlight or a jet of water to play in on a hot summer's day a rainbow appears?
A rainbow can be scientifically explained as such:
“A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch.

A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colours; the distinct bands are an artifact of human colour vision. The most commonly cited and remembered sequence, in English, is Newton's sevenfold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet (popularly memorized by mnemonics like Roy G. Biv). Rainbows can be caused by other forms of water than rain, including mist, spray, and dew.

A rainbow also can be explained biblically as such:
“Interestingly, the true meaning of the rainbow or rainbows is only in in the first book (Genesis) and the last book (Revelation) of the Bible. The book of Ezekiel also has a reference to a rainbow.
In the Genesis account, a rainbow appears right after the great worldwide flood brought in order to remove sinful and evil-minded man from the earth. It symbolized God's mercy and the covenant He made with Noah (representing mankind) not to destroy the world in such a way again:
"And God said: 'this is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
"'I set My RAINBOW in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the RAINBOW shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The RAINBOW shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.' ” (Genesis 9:12-16, NKJV throughout)”
Why am I asking a question like this to then paste scientific and biblical explanations? Well that’s simple, I mentioned many times throughout various texts and discussions with friend and people in general that, the world is getting more and uglier, I mean I myself can’t even watch the news on the television for it awakes feelings of deep sorrow in me.
But I do think that we make our own “living in the moment” feeling and that when we take one day at the time we then can find contentment. Of course we have to make plans for the future because they bring hope and purpose, but we must, at all cost, and remember that plans can be changed or even cancelled, but what to do in the mean time? That’s easy; do you ever stop and notice the little things around you that make you smile? I’m not talking about our kids, spouse, family/friends or our beloved pets! No I’m talking about a fresh load of laundry coming out of the dryer, the first flower popping it’s head in Spring... I’m talking about going to the store and finding out they are having a huge sell on something you always wanted but couldn’t really justify the price! An unexpected visit or phone call from a long lost friend, walking in the local grocery store and they pull a fresh batch of bread out of the oven and the smell fills your every senses. Yes THAT is what it is to live in the moment! Simple every day things that makes you happy without realizing it, well you could find that so desired feeling of contentment if you could start and actually notice them, take them in for all those little situations have to offer.
We work for a living and not the other way around, yes most of us have depts. and things on credit but it doesn’t mean that we live to work, it means that we try to better the life of our loved ones as well as ours by providing quality living! But we seem to let ourselves be defined by those numbers, ever thought that since we can’t really change anything at the present time that the situation of stress due to those said numbers are only one side of the coin that life is. It is entirely up to each individual to turn the coin and see what else there is in the mean time!
Another thing that people doesn’t always notice as being “a moment” is: so many of us take public transport to go to work or school, what do we do during the travel time? Some listen to music while reading a good book, others listen to music while looking at the scenery passing by though the window and others find this time to be suitable to strike up conversation with a seated neighbour. As you can see throughout all the everyday responsibilities we all face as adults, “moments” are everywhere so just take the time to notice them, make your own rainbow and in the end you won’t be late but you will be smiling in contentment!
